Chengdu always attaches high value to the cultural creativity and innovation sector. Over the past few years, lots of cultural creativity parks and companies have emerged and are booming rapidly. The dynamic city launched an annual creativity event starting from the year 2014. During the event, the local people, private museums, art galleries, cultural creativity companies and institutions jointly hosted more than 100 programs, forums, seminars and sideshows.

The just-concluded 2016 Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair also attracted the active involvement of many local cultural creativity and innovation organizations and professionals, promoting the mass participation in cultural innovation.

Chengdu has the largest number of private museums in the country, with one museum for every 97,000 people. Shan Jixiang, curator of China's Palace Museum, said that Chengdu people love culture, enjoy culture and create culture. This is the city's major advantage to become western China's cultural creativity and innovation center.
