There is never a lack of innovation DNA of Chengdu.

A city with a history of over 3， 000 years， Chengdu built the world-known Dujiangyan Irrigation System， invented Jiaozi — the first paper money in the world， and the earliest block printing technique in human history.

Now Chengdu plans to make itself a city of innovation and entrepreneurship to make a mark on the world.

Chengdu was listed as one of the top 10 cities in China fit for innovation by Fortune magazine last year and has won many awards related to innovation and entrepreneurship.

The first innovation and entrepreneurship fair of its kind in the world — the 2015 China Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair was initiated in Chengdu in November 2015. The annual event was held in Chengdu for the second time in June 2016 and concluded with fruitful results. It attracted delegates from over 30 countries and regions around the world， including government leaders， principals from distinguished institutions， and world-class scientists， entrepreneurs and investors. More than 3，000 deals worth 16 billion yuan （$2.41 billion） were signed at the fair.

The modern Chengdu will be built into an internationally renowned city of innovation and entrepreneurship， with its booming innovation， high-tech industries and well-developed facilities.

成都 创新之城

成都，从来不乏创新的基因。

时间经纬之中，从2000年前成都都江堰无坝引水工程的巨大创新，到率先发明并使用雕版印刷术，再到发行世界最早纸币“交子”……古往今来，一直以“水旱从人、不知饥馑，谓之天府”宜业宜居环境闻名于世的成都，创新创业的内核基因，可谓古已有之。

去年11月，为更好地响应国家创新驱动发展战略号召，顺应全球创新创业发展大势，成都创办全国首个全球性创新创业交易会——中国·成都全球创新创业交易会，达成《全球创新创业成都共识》。今年，蜀中六月，打造“国际化、国家级、永久性”创新创业年度盛会的2016中国·成都全球创新创业交易会，获得国家、省、市的高度重视，全球30余位世界创新创业热点城市市长、20多位国内外知名高校校长、300多位世界商界精英、创投机构、孵化载体创始人齐聚成都，推动全球创新创业要素流动和成果交易，参加创交会的全球交易项目超过3000项，交易额突破160亿元。
