To date, Chengdu has become home to 278 Fortune Global 500 companies, including 10 which just made presence in the city between January and July. It tops central and western China in terms of the number of companies and the gross amount of investment. Statistics show that from January to July, Chengdu introduced 176 major projects (including those with expanded investment), valued at RMB200 billion, and both its domestic and foreign capital actually utilized rose more than 10% compared with the same period of a year ago.
In the first half of the year, Chengdu inked deals for many big-ticket projects involving the city's pillar industries, including the RMB24.5-billion second phase of BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd.'s sixth generation production line, a RMB13-billion project from Zhongzhi New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd., the RMB10 billion Gree Yinlong New Energy Industrial Park, andthe RMB5.2-billion Chengdu Cyberport Big Data Industrial Base. The projects are expected to strengthen the city's industrial foundation and advance its “Made in Chengdu 2025” program.
